Getting to Ikea with public transport

So I went to Ikea today! This is fun having 2 apartments' worth of furniture (Geneva and Lyon) and trying to squish it into something approx 30sqm smaller... ummm not going to happen! So we'll maybe have to replace larger pieces with smaller ones... Strange feeling going to Ikea in Melbourne... it's only 4km from the CBD . What the-? Usually they are in middle of nowhere industrial suburbs far from the city.... Also, this was the most emptiest store I'd ever seen! There were tons of staff doing nothing... and I saw probably only 10-15 people wandering the whole store...and most were Asian? So weird. I got a real sense of nostalgia remembering how many times I went there in the past in other cities... it's my home away from home no matter which city I live in haha.. and once again I took painful public transport to get there.... as soon as I got on the tram a middle-aged Chinese woman was conversing with an Australian high school girl and she was showin...

Most illogical information train platform signage ever

Still trying to get my head around the most illogical public transport system in a developed country... The designer in me wants to do something less painful like headbutt a brick wall. Been here 6 weeks and today I finally figure out the order of this timetable board. Is it by time? No. Is it in alphabetical order? No. Is it by platform number? Sort of. After reading it as 2 vertical columns I notice that there are some very thin horizontal divider lines ... ooohhhhh! Now it makes more sense. But they are still not organised in time order in each section omfg. But still, basically you have to read the ENTIRE board to find your train line and which platform it's on if you're not familiar with it.

Driving for the first time in Melbourne

So I drove for the first time in Melbourne yesterday... After suffering serious stress from dealing with the hell-on-earth traffic in the eastern suburbs/CBD of Sydney.. it wasn't much better in Melbourne.  When we were driving to Canberra and trying to get to the Harbour tunnel we had to pass a HUGE amount of traffic (on a Saturday) with like 10 lanes not moving (hello Los Angeles?!) just due to ONE accident on the Cahill expressway... I thank the Gods we were taking the tunnel and not the harbour bridge which meant we might've been stuck there for 2 hours... WTF is up with this shit? Traffic is a nightmare. Why are there constant accidents? Why are people such bad drivers? They should seriously raise the age to 21 I reckon, and make those over 60 or 70 re-take the exam because people here seriously cannot drive! And everyone is so anti-public transport.. ugh... so they have to drive absolutely everywhere, even 500m down the road... So my GPS and Google maps told ...
